Fabulista Affirms: I am beautiful and gifted.

On my way down Fashion Lane the other weekend, I wandered pass Intelligent Street. It wasn’t intentional but I saw a particular institution conduction interesting tests. Having extra time on my hands, I thought it useful to take a look. Needless to say, I signed up for one.

By the end of the first test, I was on such an intellectual high, I decided on a second one. Yesterday, which was approximately a week later, I received a couple of letters in my mail – the results. Here’s what they say:

My Dominant Brain

I exhibit an even balance between left- and right- hemisphere dominance and a slight preference for visual over auditory processing. With a score this balanced, it is likely that I would have slightly different results each time I complete this self-assessment quiz.

I am a well-rounded person, distinctly individualistic and artistic, an active and multidimensional learner. At the same time, I am logical and disciplined, can operate well within an organization, and am sensitive towards others without losing objectivity. I am organized and goal-directed. Although a "thinking" individual, I "take in" entire situations readily and can act on intuition.

I sometimes tend to vacillate in learning styles. Learning might take me longer than someone of equal intellect, but I will tend to be more thorough and retain the material longer than those other individuals. I will alternate between logic and impulse. This vacillation will not normally be intentional or deliberate, so I may experience anxiety in situations where I am not certain which aspect of self will be called on.

With a slight preference for visual processing, I tend to be encompassing in perceptions, process along multidimensional paths and be active in attacking of situations or learning.

Overall, I should feel content with life and self. I am, perhaps, a little too critical of self -- and of others -- while maintaining an "openness" which tempers that tendency. Indecisiveness is a problem and creativity may not be in keeping with potential. Being a pragmatist, I downplay this aspect of self and focus on the more immediate, obvious and the more functional.

My Intelligence Quotient

My age adjusted IQ score is 135 while the average score is 100.

My Grade ** Gifted **

Anyone with a general IQ this high is considered gifted. I have the ability to think critically, conceptualize ideas and form my own conclusions. My ability to think in patterns and to produce order out of chaos enables me to handle complexities and see logic in everything. Needless to say I am self-aware of my abilities and have the brains for all known occupations. If I think of intelligence as the ability to adapt easily to new situations then I am at the top of the charts.

There you go. The minions and wannabes at the elite institution that hothouses “boys with a certain mystique and gumption” can eat your heart out. This village idiot hasn’t turn out too bad.

In addition, this one has the looks to go with the brain.

Fabulista Discovers: Trembling Blossom.

Prada's latest sartorial theme - organic and living.

Fabulista Affirms: Bespoke Shoes are Sound for Limps.

My friend from the sunny island set in the sea told me about an adventurous shopping trip the other day. Down at the local mall, famous for it’s collection of famous designer boutiques, there as a commotion and a horde of policemen and women in their sexy blues swept into the mall and paced the entire complex faster than Tyra Banks can get into her next outfit at a Victoria’s Secret show.

Excitedly, my friend concluded that it was possible that a sighting of the island’s number 1 most wanted criminal was reported. I thought it was entirely possible too. I know for a fact that said escape-convict/terrorist limps. As a campaigner of quality, artisan shoes, I totally applaud his decision to invest in a proper pair of Prada for his podiatry condition. How very wise too. Prada's distinct collection of elegant and classic black is an excellent sartorial choice that would suit him so well – stealth and beauty.

However, if he had actually consulted me, I would have given him advice, free of charge (I am not all bitch and no heart you know, I can be a very altruistic person too) and recommended him to the latest Zegna boutique located in the heart of the island’s business district. That boutique provides bespoke shoe services that would have served him well for a perfect pair of shoes to address to his unbalanced bipod condition.

I have been told that a last would be made from any customer’s feet at the measuring session for a perfectly fitting pair just for one – think famous shot of Audrey Hepburn and Salvatore Ferragamo circa 1950s. But then again, I am wondering if Zegna’s master shoemaker is town. I understand that the boutique’s master tailor and shoemaker visits only once a year in December.

Drats, Mas! You should have made an appointment with them earlier…

Fabulista contemplates: On life.

Our existence is defined by the meaning we seek and give. This in turns forms and shapes into what is termed as ‘life’ as we know it.

Yet our purpose of living is guided by the memories of how our life is lived, the way we remember ourselves that provides us with a context.

They are not discrete; rather, they are parallel subsets of one another, a simultaneously symbiotic and synergistic entity.
